Rachel Harper is a widow in her mid-fifties. She arrives in Key West where she and Paul had enjoyed special anniversaries. She returns to find peace, reflect on memories of their thirty-year marriage, and contemplate her future.
Instead, she finds herself in the middle of an annual festival celebrating Ernest Hemingway’s life, and encounters, “Flash,” a charming frail man who asks her to breakfast. Rachel accepts his invitation, torn between conflicting emotions, wondering what Paul would think, leaving her in flux.
Flash later reveals his identity reconnecting to earlier years. Rachel grapples with mixed emotions, wavering between living an independent lifestyle or the potential for a new beginning with a wounded soul.
